The ProMed Network podcast team wraps up their coverage of EMS World Expo 2011 with the big finale MedicCast / EMS Garage combo episode. In this episode the rest of the podcast hosts join Chris Montera in the Podcast Studio (sponsored by the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation) to share their Expo Product Innovator Picks for the show. Guests include Scott Kier from MedicSBK.com and Natalie Quebodeaux host of the GenMed show.
Also joining the panel at the top of the show is Jon Cloutier from ZOLL to share their innovative new monitoring technology that allows the paramedic in the field to “see through” chest compressions in progress and read the underlying rhythm without stopping compressions. ZOLL continues their groundbreaking support of the EMS podcast and blog community with their sponsorship of our finale episode.
Dr. Ben Bobrow joins the team next to chat about the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation and the importance of a system and community wide approach to the recognition and treatment of sudden cardiac arrest victims. Find out more about the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation at SCA-Aware.org.
The two product innovator picks for this segment are Scott Kier’s pick the IntuBrite laryngoscope handle and blade with the ergonomic grip and design. Also, Chris Montera’s pick from Ferno, the soon to be released EZ-Glide Stair Chair with PowerTraxx®. The addition of a powered stair ascent mode makes this the perfect device for getting patients up or down the stairs and out to our ambulances. Natalie’s pick also appears in this section. She chose iPCR and their innovative iPad patient care reporting app for her Expo 2011 product pick. Find out more at iPCREMS.com.
