Good day and welcome to this week’s episode of the MedicCast. I’m your host, Jamie Davis, the Podmedic and I’d like to welcome you to this week’s show. There are some pretty exciting things coming up in this week’s program as we kick off our three part finale from EMS World Expo 2012. This week has the first three product innovator picks from our podcasting team.
First off is Chris Montera’s pick, a disinfectant and cleaner made from ordinary tap water in your station. Next up is my pick, an online discount shopping service only open to military and first responders. And we’ll wrap up this first segment with Chris Cebollero’s tasty pick, self-heating MRE’s. Check all that out coming right up!
ProMed Executive Producer Anne Robinson (CaringAnne.com) joins the panel with her product innovator pick for this year’s finale episode from EMS World Expo 2012. Anne found the ELSA from RTT Mobile Interpretation. It’s a hand held device that can also be worn on a lanyard around the neck and it connect via cellular connection to a live language interpreter who speaks directly with your patient. Your questions and instructions are interpreted and the patient’s responses are interpreted back.
The limited english proficient (LEP) population and the need for urgent interpretation in diverse environments continue to increase. While the opportunities for RTT to serve are many, we are delivering world class interpretation expertise to law enforcement, healthcare, financial services and government agencies.

For the tactical EMS professional, having what you need close at hand without cluttering up the pack with needless tools is important. In this product pick from EMS World Expo 2012 in New Orleans last month, our good friend Patrick Lickiss joins the panel to show his pick for the expo.
The Patrol XF pack from Conterra has a lot of the features you might need in a tactical EMS pack so you have just what you need when you need it in tactical emergency medical services operations.
We took our time proven Patrol III and added features for use by security and military forces. The XF sports a quick release buckle system for attaching a roll up tactical stretcher (sold separately, please see Patrol XF Roll Up Stretcher). In addition to all the outside pockets and internal organization of the P-III, the XF has the ability to attach two fold out IDM pockets (sold separately).

EMS World publisher and EMS World Expo organizer Scott Cravens took some of his precious time to sit down with Jamie Davis, the Podmedic and EMS Garage host Chris Montera, the Geekymedic in the ProMed Network podcast studio. Scott, Chris and Jamie chatted about the previous three days at EMS World Expo including some of the challenges faced by attendee travel delays associated with the East Coast arrival of Hurricane Sandy that same week.
The three also looked forward to EMS World Expo 2013, back in Las Vegas, Nevada. With new and exciting changes each year at the expo, Scott promised some interesting updates to the conference to support both attendees and vendors in the exhibit hall. Jamie and Chris both talked about the fifth anniversary of their coverage of EMS World Expo from the podcast studio coming up next year.

During the Finale episode at EMS World Expo, each of the podcast hosts from the ProMed Network Podcast Studio gets to pick a product innovator pick from the hundreds of products we see in the exhibit hall. This episode kicks off that list with Chris Montera’s product pick. Chris is the host of the EMS Garage podcast.
Chris picked the GEN-X-3 disinfectant, cleaner and purifier spray by Nature Tech Solutions. The GEN-X-3TMsystem consists of a compact docking station and hand-held applicator that together create a powerful, chemical-free sanitizing/disinfecting solution that is 80-200 times more powerful than chlorine, yet safe enough to drink.
Using the convenient and economical GEN-X-3TM system, consumers can now kill infection-causing bacteria, viruses, fungi and spores without the expense and health hazards associated with chemically based cleaning products.
