The Tech Podcast Network (TPN), our sister network through our partnership with Raw Voice, Inc., will be kicking off their full coverage of CES 2011 (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas today. You can follow their CES 2011 coverage at TPN.tv.
Their first show will air this afternoon at 3 PM PST (6 ET) with a pre-show from their live podcast studio streaming over Ustream.tv. (It will be recorded to watch later, too.) Catch the CES Pre-show coverage with Todd Cochrane of the Geek News Central Podcast and the other members of the TPN team as they show us what is new and coming soon in the world of cool consumer tech gadgets.
The TPN gang will then commence continuous coverage live from the show floor starting at 8 AM PST on Thursday, Jan 6, 2010 and providing a 24 hour stream of live and pre-recorded content regarding the show through Sunday Jan 9, at 4 PM PST.
I’m hoping they show off some of the interesting medical device applications from the conference since this type of live streaming programming is perfect for health care collaborations and educational applications.
Todd Cochrane’s (CEO of Raw Voice, Inc. a ProMed Network partner) 2010 Blogworld presentation is on the importance of video podcasting on the marketplace. He talks about the things his associated networks have seen in traffic increases due to uptake of the video content in living rooms using the OTT (Over The Top TV) set top boxes that bring internet based video to your primary TV device.
You can also check out the discussion that Todd and I have with Raw Voice CIO Angelo Mandato about this during Todd’s annual 24 Hour Podcast show. I posted that here on the the ProMed Network blog to give you a look at what is in the plans for the future on the network.
Congratulations to Rick Russotti on his upcoming 200th episode of the Mitigation Journal podcast! I’m proud to say that I helped to get him started and he has created an amazing program on preparedness for emergency and health pros at all levels!
Since then, Rick has progressed from a training officer to a battalion chief and after his retirement from the Rochester Fire service, began training as an RN. Rick is the consummate professional in everything he does and we here at the ProMed Network are proud to be associated with him.
In this segment recorded last month at EMS Expo 2010 from the Zoll Podcast Studio booth, Chris Montera of the EMS Garage talks with EMS Marketing Manager Jon Cloutier from Zoll Medical Corporation about expectation and equipment updates following the ECC 2010 guidelines.

In this episode segment from EMS Expo 2010 in Dallas, Jamie Davis, the Podmedic and the MedicCast look at some innovative ways one Texas community is using technology to improve patient care and outcomes when in a STEMI or other acute coronary syndrome (ACS) situation.
The episode was sponsored by Philips (www.philips.com/ems) and their cardiac monitor algorithm coupled with communications technology that allows the ambulance to communicate via bluetooth and wireless transmission, is allowing patients needing advanced cardiac care to have teams waiting to treat them on arrival at the hospital.
Host Jamie Davis is joined on the show by Jeff Sundseth from Pearland, Texas EMS. Jeff talks about the partnerships they have developed with local facilities to speed the “door to balloon time” for cardiac patients and credits the technology built in to his cardiac monitors from Philips as one of the reasons this partnership works.
More GenMed Show to come as the Happy Medic, Justin Schorr took over the GenMed Show episode on Friday morning of EMS Expo for a Happy Hour segment. Check back here at ProMed later this month for that video segment and all of the excellent programs recorded live at EMS Expo 2010 in Dallas.
Join EMS Garage host Chris Montera as he kicks off the ProMed Network coverage of the EMS Expo from the Zoll sponsored podcast studio in the Exhibit Hall during the event.
This episode was sponsored by Philips and there was an interesting discussion among the panel about data transmission and web based applications for the EMS providers in the field and the hospital emergency departments they transport to.
Special Guests on the show included Chris Cebollaro, Kyle David Bates, and Chris Jones of Image Trend, Inc. appearing for Philips. For more episodes of the video coverage recorded live at EMS Expo, visit the ProMed Network Blog at blog.promednetwork.com.
